Frequently asked Questions

Got Questions?

We've got Answers

Below are some of the most common questions about Vinofiore, our wines, shipping, and pickup. If you've got a question that isn't answered here, email us at

Our Wines

Do your wines contain sulfites?

The short answer to that question is yes. All wines contain naturally-occurring sulfites. The EU is much more strict than the USA about additives, so our imported wines tend to have far fewer sulfites and additives than New World wines. If you're looking for lower-sulfite, organic or minimal intervention wines, just ask one of our staff and we can guide you in the right direction.

Are your wines organic?

Many of them are. Most of our winemakers produce wines that are certified as organic by government in their country of origin. However, the US does not recognize these certifications, so we can't technically use the word "organic" in our advertising.

The Tasting Room

When are tastings available?

All day, every day. Call us at (910) 553-0487 to double check our hours, as they change seasonally.

Do I need a reservation for the tasting?

No. Seating is first come, first served.

Can I reserve the tasting room for a private event?

Yes! Contact us at or (910) 553-0487 for more info.

When will my order arrive?

You'll get a shipping notification that will allow you to track your order at the email you provided during checkout. Allow 1-2 business days for us to prepare your order for shipping. If your order is being shipped via UPS ground, expect your order to arrive 2-4 business days after it was shipped.

Can I pick my wine up locally?

Yes. If you've selected "local pickup," you can pick your wines up at our office at 5039 Main Street, Suite 7 in Shallotte during our regular hours. Pease bring your ID with you!

What states do you ship to?

We currently ship to North Carolina, Florida, and the District of Columbia. We're adding more states soon. Please be patient with us as we explore shipping to states outside of our current service area. State-to-state alcohol shipping regulations are difficult to navigate and very, very strange.

Why can't you ship to my state?

In short, it's because interstate alcohol shipping laws are different in every state. We're working on expanding our reach. If we carry a wine you love, but we can't ship to you yet, let us know by emailing us at It just might help us determine which state to apply for permits in next.

I got an email saying my wine shipment will be delayed. Why?

We may delay your wine shipment in extreme weather to prevent damage to the wine. If the wine gets too hot or cold, it may affect the flavor and quality, and no one wants that. If your shipment is delayed and you'd like to cancel it, you may do so by logging into your account or by contacting is at

I wasn't home to receive my order. What happens now?

The delivery of alcohol requires an ID check and an adult signature. If you're not home to receive your order, the carrier will attempt delivery 2 more times before the wine is returned to us. If the wine is returned, you will receive a refund on the wine, but you will be charged for shipping both ways. If you work outside the home, we recommend shipping your wine to your place of business.
